I have always had a passion for gardening and it has been a part of my life since I was a little girl. I remember watching and helping my Grandmother tend to her vegetable garden and care for her geraniums, which must 'always be dead-headed to ensure more blooms'. My parents were also a big influence in my love of gardening although at a young age I saw my chores in the garden as just that - chores - never realizing at the time that I was learning what it meant to be a gardener.  When I was grown and married and had a home of my own I naturally looked to gardening to add beauty to my yard. The more I experimented with different plantings the more I loved it. Gardening is a form of art to me - a creative outlet. The gardens are my canvas and the plants add the colour.

 

During the winter months I turn my attentions to creating decorative urns and pots and spending time caring for my indoor plants but at the first sign of spring you can always find me in the garden. When the warmer days of April and May arrive I am outside most of the time, weeding, watering, planting and designing.

 

I've always loved designing garden spaces and structures and over the years have helped many friends and family with their garden designs and maintenance. In 2013 after retiring from a career as an office worker, I knew I wanted to continue to develop my knowledge and love of plants and landscaping by enrolling in 2 Certificate Courses - Horticultural Design and Sustainable Landscape Design at Humber College in Toronto. As I continue with my formal education I am excited to be able to share my passion through the use of landscape design software and my ever expanding knowledge of horticultural practices.

 

Many of my projects come through personal recommendation, and I take great care to listen carefully to the clients' needs. Every client and every site is different, and I enjoy the variety of creating something new and unique to help create a garden that reflects the owners' individuality.
